Ball Street takes the Tipster Challenge at Cheltenham

In the penultimate week of action in the Tipster Challenge 2016/17, sponsored by Betting Gods, Ged Colleypriest from Ball Street has made his play for glory at Cheltenham.

The Partnerships Director for Ball Street, a network of influencers for sports on social media channels such as YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, has provided tips for today’s seven-race card.

Colleypriest will be going up against the sixth placed Stephen Harris from bettingexpert, and the experts from Timeform, who sit in 17th place with an average of 3.19 points over 25 weeks.

bettingexpert: Coastal Tiep

Has been highly tried in four starts over hurdles so far and might have more improvement to come now the ground has quickened up.

Timeform: William Henry

The lightly-raced William Henry was last seen when runner-up in a Grade 2 over this C&D in January so is clearly the one to beat back down in class.

Ball Street: Solighoster

Not the prettiest hurdler but seems to have an engine.

bettingexpert: Voix D’Eau

Comes from a yard in terrific form and had excuses when disappointing last time out in a huge field.

Timeform: Village Vic

He has an excellent record around here, and may prove difficult to peg back in this smaller field.

Ball Street: Thomas Crapper

Impressed here before and the Crapper tends to be where my bets have ended up recently!

3:15

bettingexpert: Drumcliff

Has shaped well in two handicaps so far (tapped at 2m at Musselburgh) and has potential to do better.

Timeform: Divine Spear

Has built up a very solid record in handicaps this term, and given he is unexposed over this sort of trip, could easily have more to offer.

Ball Street: Itsafreebee

Disappointed last time out but could bounce back this time.

bettingexpert: Spookydooky

Could bounce back to form now with Jonjo now in terrific form and drying ground to suit.

Timeform: Doing Fine

Back on track for this yard, finishing runner-up in all three starts, but shaping as though a return to this sort of test would suit at Wincanton last month, he is taken to deservedly resume winning ways.

Ball Street: Any Currency

Won this last year and fancy it for back to backs.

4:25

bettingexpert: Baron du Plessis

Has a career record of 0 from 12 but has shaped well in defeat of late and can provide the red-hot Ian Williams yard with another winner.

Timeform: Max Forte

Fourth in an Ascot handicap in February that has thrown up a host of subsequent winners and there is a good chance he’ll be one himself here.

Ball Street: Max Forte

Form seems to be strong based on Ascot showing.

bettingexpert: Mick Thonic

Has run three times for Tizzard (all at this venue in warm company) and can get off the mark getting 8lb from Marracudja.

Timeform: Marracudja

The race revolves around whether Marracudja returns to the sort of level he achieved when winning a brace of novice events in the autumn.

Ball Street: Marracudja

Looked good here in Autumn and has shown promise against some strong horses.

bettingexpert: Copain De Classe

Has potential now going handicapping from a very fair opening mark and can improve past some rivals who are now much higher up the weights.

Timeform: Copain De Classe

Quickly resumed winning ways returned to a sound surface at Wincanton last month and he remains with potential back in a handicap.

Ball Street: Copain De Classe

Another promising Nicholls horse. Think he can repeat his win last time out.
