Before The Off Editor takes second place in the Tipster Challenge

Phillip Anderson, an editor for Before The Off, has moved into second place in the Tipster Challenge table after collecting 6.17 points at Bangor Races.

Beforetheoff.com is a specialist horse racing site, launched in conjunction with Independent Content Services Ltd (ICS) in 2014 to provide up-to-the minute, data-driven analysis of upcoming races.

Anderson only trails Alan Alger of Betway, who managed 11.41 points at Fontwell. Timeform drop to fifth despite increasing their weekly average to 2.77 with three race wins at Bangor.

Meanwhile, it was a disappointingly blank day for Stephen Harris of bettingexpert, who now sits just above Ed Nicholson at the bottom of the table.

• We will keep record of points won each week and the number of race wins for each.
• The guests will compete individually, with their points going up against the average totals for bettingexpert and Timeform.
• The new tips will be published on Wednesday ahead of the race meet, and the results will be available on Thursday.
• For the purpose of the competition, we will assume that all selections are backed with 1 point.
• Lost tips will count as 0 and won bets will be added to the leaderboard at SP value.
• For example, if bettingexpert backs a winning horse at 8/1, they will get 8 points.
