The Guests opened up a decent lead at the top of the Tipster Challenge table, after Luke Tarr turned in a strong performance at Pontefract. Tarr, Head of Public Relations at Star Sports since 2008, picked out three winners including the 11/4 Silver Alliance, who was also backed by both SBC and Timeform.
In fact, it was Timeform who collected the most points of the day, thanks to a second 11/4 success on Ralphy Boy. Meanwhile, SBC News only managed 3.66 points, but that was enough to take second place from Stephen Harris, as the bettingexpert racing guru failed to find a single winner across the seven races.
Race Winners at Pontefract:
- Silver Alliance – 11/4
- Perfect Madge – 13/8
- British Embassy – 100/30
- Stars Over The Sea – 10/11
- Sandra’s Secret – 15/2
- Ralphy Boy – 11/4
- Ace Master – 11/2

- We will be taking on bettingexpert, Timeform and a rotation of guests, with the focus on a specific Wednesday race meet.
- Throughout the year we will keep record of points won each week, points won on average and points won overall for each.
- The guest tipsters will compete as one team, with their points added together as one leaderboard entry.
- The new tips will be published on Wednesday ahead of the race meet, and the results will be available on Thursday.
- For the purpose of the competition, we will assume that all selections are backed with 1 point.
- Lost tips will count as 0 and won bets will be added to the leaderboard at SP value.
- For example, if bettingexpert backs a winning horse at 8/1, they will get 8 points.
