OpenBet hires new CTO and Compliance VP ahead of Endeavor makeover

OpenBet has moved to strengthen its executive leadership ranks ahead of major imminent changes for the leading tier-1 sports betting technology and platform supplier. 

Tech figurehead Florian Diederichsen has joined OpenBet as new CTO, charged with evolving OpenBet’s modular sports betting platform and accelerating the firm’s next cycle of betting innovations.

Diederichsen is the former CTO of DAZN, who oversaw the tech development of the firm’s media platform, which has become a leading sports OTT services operating across all continents.

“I’m delighted to have joined OpenBet and thoroughly looking forward to the next chapter of my career,” Diederichsen commented on joining OpenBet leadership.

“Development work is already underway behind the scenes that will revolutionise the future of sports betting entertainment and I cannot wait to share our innovative concepts within the marketplace.”

OpenBet’s new CTO is followed by the appointment of Jessica Feil as VP, Regulatory Affairs and Compliance.

Recognised as a leading US gaming legal expert, Feil joins OpenBet from the American Gaming Association (AGA) where she formerly served as Vice President of Government Relations & Gaming Policy Counsel.

During her tenure at the AGA, Feil led the trade group’s policy counsel to support US states adopt their nascent wagering laws and reform gambling frameworks.

“OpenBet’s determination to expand across the globe and deliver sports betting entertainment to billions of players worldwide is unrivalled,” Feil stated. 

“With legislation moving quickly within the U.S. and globally, I’m looking forward to providing valuable support and expertise to aid the company’s aggressive growth strategy.

“Compliance and regulatory affairs are incredibly important aspects of sports betting and OpenBet continues to set the standard of delivering the safest and most reliable experiences for players to enjoy cutting-edge entertainment.”

The leadership appointments of  Diederichsen and Feil were detailed as key strategic hires for OpenBet as the technology group transitions to its new ownership by the Endeavor sports entertainment group.

2021, saw Endeavor enter the global sports betting market, undertaking its first industry M&A acquiring OpenBet for $1.2 billion from former operating company Scientific Games Corporation
