Danske Spil renews Quantum contract with Sportech

Sportech Plc has announced a major client extension as Danske Spil, Denmark’s state-owned lottery operator, renews its pari-mutuel technology agreement with the racing systems provider.

The agreement will see Danske Spil continue to utilise Sportech’s ‘Quantum’ software as lead retail system for racing tote and pari-mutuel markets.

Last year, Danske Spil undertook a group-wide overhaul of its retail racing system provisions, installing Sportech’s Quantum solution across its Danish retail point network.

Niels Erik Folmann, CEO of Danske Licens Spil A/S stated, “The team at Sportech have been responsive to the needs of Danske Spil as we pursue our growth and sustainability objectives, and their technology solutions provide a strong platform upon which to expand our delivery of pools betting on horseracing in Denmark. We were happy to extend our contract and look forward to pursuing further new initiatives with Sportech.”

In addition to Quantum upgrades, Sportech will facilitate Danske Spil with a new suite of enhanced operational tools, such as a consolidated interface for data and wagering, optimising in-store performance with racing markets.

Bruno Gay, Sportech’s Senior Vice President Sales and Business Development EMEA, remarked, “Sportech is delighted to extend our business relationship with our valued client, Danske Spil. We have worked for many years to deliver Tote solutions that help Danske Spil achieve their objectives.

“The recently completed integration to allow horse racing to be offered via a large number of Danske Spil lottery outlets is one example of these solutions. We look forward to pursuing new avenues of growth with Danske Spil well into the future.”
