Fantasy sports giant AlphaDraft have announced a new partnership with developer Hi-Rez Studios for the SMITE Pro League
This is an independent eSports league based around their popular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game SMITE. The details of the partnership are that both companies will work together to provider users with real-time official fantasy stats during SMITE Pro League broadcasts
Such real-time stats are of huge importance and potential benefit to the fantasy eSports and SMITE communities. The two organisations have worked together previously, but this officially agreed partnership will see such stats available on the platforms, both Twitch and AlphaDraft’s own, throughout the Fall Split; August 15th to October 25th 2015
Discussing the news AlphaDraft CEO, Todd Peterson, stated: “Many of us at AlphaDraft are and have been huge fans of SMITE. Once we started talking to the team at Hi-Rez, we realized just how passionate we are collectively about eSports and building a fantastic eSports community. This made a deep collaboration a no-brainer.”
This partnership is somewhat unprecedented in the world of fantasy eSports, as Peterson highlighted: “We can’t think of any other scenario where a developer and daily fantasy draft platform have worked together so closely, with such great results that benefit the pro gamers, the community, and the daily fantasy participants.”
SMITE was added to AlphaDraft’s list of supported competitive eSports titles for daily fantasy contests near the beginning of this summer. It already has over 10 million players, and will doubtless continue to grow with AlphaDraft in support.
Chief Operating Officer at Hi-Rez, Todd Harris, said: “Like Hi-Rez, one of AlphaDraft’s primary goals is helping to build and strengthen eSports as a whole. Our partnership with AlphaDraft gives us a tool to make SMITE broadcasts even better, with relevant real-time statistics and updates available to viewers as players battle it out, drawing spectators even deeper into the action.
