PokerStars powers Amaya Gaming’s 2014 corporate performance

Reporting on its first ever annual performance after acquiring poker operators PokerStars and Full Tilt from Rational Group, Amaya Gaming recorded increased corporate revenues of CAD $688 million up 371% from 2013 CAD $145 million (pre PokerStars & Full Tilt acquisition).

The introduction of Rational Group poker operations to its services has seen Amaya record adjusted EBITDA earnings of CAD $292 million up 365% on FY 2013: CAD $63 million. Amaya would hit adjusted net earnings of CAD $145 million up from FY 2013 earnings of CAD $23 million.

As expected Amaya Governance noted that its growth had been driven by PokerStars performance which had been added to Amayas financial books in H2 2014.

Amaya continues to offload its existing gambling and igaming technology and services portfolio as the Toronto listed operator looks to concentrate its operations on PokerStars and Full Tilt igaming brands. Yesterday Amaya confirmed that it had agreed terms for the sale of slot manufacturer Cadillac Jack to Apollo Capital Management subsidiary AGS for CAD $476 million

Commenting on 2014 Corporate Performance Amaya Gaming Chairman and CEO David Baazov Stated:

“The strength and vitality of the platforms supported strong growth and innovation, highlighted by the launch of Spin & Go’s on PokerStars, and delivered strong customer growth, with more than two million new customers registered during the fourth quarter. Additionally, we continued to expand our casino offerings, while making investments in IT and R&D to prepare for geographic and product growth.

“Thus far in 2015, we have introduced initiatives to grow the poker sector in key European markets, including the UK, as well as in Asia. PokerStars intends to continue to grow its core poker business through geographic expansion, new and innovative marketing campaigns, including exciting global celebrity endorsements and promotions, and continued innovation in games and technology to improve the consumer experience and attract new players to the game and our other offerings.
