Betware has expanded its management team with the appointment of former GTECH regional vice president Frank Cecchini as its new chief commercial officer.
Cecchini will take charge of the company’s sales, marketing and account management strategy as the company moves to bolster its presence in the lottery supplier market.
Betware chief executive Stefan Hrafnkelsson said he was delighted to have Cecchini join his management team, highlighting his lottery market experience and innovative approach as having the potential to greatly enhance the company’s expansion plans.
“Frank joins us at a very exciting time; after finalizing the acquisition process, together with our new owners Novomatic AG Betware now focuses on a complete 360 degree solution for lotteries,” Hrafnkelsson explained.
Before leaving to set up a consultancy business in December last year, Cecchini spent 14 years with GTECH, joining in 1999 as European field services manager and progressing through the ranks to hold a number of account management and director roles, focused on Central European markets like Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Benelux countries.
Cecchini said he was happy to join Betware and become part of the Novomatic group, noting there were “exciting times ahead” following the Austrian gaming giant’s acquisition of a 90 per cent stake in the supplier.
“I am convinced that the strength of Novomatic, combined with the innovative DNA of Betware will deliver new solutions and opportunities that will add tremendous value to the lottery market,” he explained.
