London-listed igaming and social gaming operator Gaming Realms has appointed Atul Bali, president of RealNetworks’ games division, as a non-executive director of the company.

Bali has held a number of senior positions in the gaming sector and currently oversees online, mobile and social games development, cross-platform publishing, software and technology licensing at RealNetworks.

Gaming Realms executive chairman Michael Buckley said he was delighted to have Atul Bali join the operator’s board of directors.

“He is one of the very few executives with deep experience in land, online and social based games and lotteries on all platforms,” Buckley explained. “His broad regulatory knowledge and worldwide experience in JVs and M&A will bring a unique perspective to Gaming Realms as it expands in the future.”

Bali becomes Gaming Realms’ third non-executive director alongside former PartyGaming chief executive Jim Ryan, and Mark Wilson who served as founding president of US horseracing network Television Games Network (TVG), since acquired by Betfair.

The company’s founders, CEO Patrick Southon, finance director Mark Segal, executive director Simon Collins and chief operating officer Noel Rowse also serve on the Gaming Realms board.
