Amaya loses Marvel gaming titles

AmayaIgaming software supplier Amaya Gaming has requested to its igaming operator clients that they withdraw all Marvel themed slots from their casino product inventory. Amaya’s supplier licensing deal with entertainment studio Disney is set to come to an end.

Disney owners of the Marvel Studios, wish to distance the studio and its popular franchises from gambling products. Due to its 2009 buyout of Marvel enterprises, Disney had inherited several casino content licensing contracts. Marvel had agreed slot titles for popular Marvel franchises with igaming software suppliers Playtech and Cryptologic (Cryptologic were purchased by Amaya Gaming in 2011)

Operators servicing Amaya Marvel titles have begun to withdraw the content, last week 888 Casino informed customers that Marvel games would no longer be available. Popular slot titles include Spider Man, the Incredible Hulk, Wolverine and Captain America.

Playtech the other igaming software provider with Marvel licensed gaming titles  confirmed that its Marvel gaming inventory still had two years remaining before the licensing expired.
