Rational Group appoint Dominic Mansour as MD of Full Tilt Poker

The Rational Group the holding company of igaming poker brands – PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker  have announced the  appointment of Dominic Mansour as Managing Director of Full Tilt Poker, responsible for the day-to-day management of the Full Tilt Poker brand and its operations. Mansour joins the Full Tilt Poker having served the past two years as CEO of Richard Desmonds Health Lottery.

Mansour has additionally held senior positions within igaming, prior to being CEO of the Health Lottery, Mansour served as Chief Technical Officer for GTECH G2, where he oversaw the development of igaming B2B software providers – Boss Media and St Minver gaming services. Mansour has also served as CEO of NetPlay TV and Globalcom/WMC UK.

The Rational Group has become the industry leader for online poker, its brand – PokerStars is currently the leading online poker room in terms of player activity and revenue generation. In July 2012, PokerStars acquired embattled  Full Tilt Poker for a price of $547 million. Full Tilt Poker had suffered from suspension of its operator license by the  Alderney Gambling Control  on September 29, 2011 for failing to pay its US customer base following the Black Friday US igaming indictments.

Since the acquisition of Full Tilt Poker brand, there have been industry concerns regarding the slow growth of the online poker room. Full Tilt Poker was once the second most popular online poker room, it now lies in fifth position in terms of player traffic.  Rumours have circulated that Rationale are looking to further expand Full Tilt Poker online gaming inventory – and have been seeking to serve its customer base with an online sportsbook and casino service, this would break away from the companies sole focus of developing and expanding itself through online poker.

“Dominic’s experience aligns very well with our plans for Full Tilt,” said Rational Group Chief Operating Officer Rafi Ashkenazi. “He has strong commercial experience, a great marketing background, and first-class product knowledge across poker, casino and sportsbook. We’re very happy to have him on-board.”

“Rational Group has big plans for Full Tilt and I’m excited to lead the charge,” said Mansour.  “In addition to continuing to innovate on the popular poker platform, we’ll be introducing exciting new games to our players, all supported by the exceptional customer support, security and integrity of the Rational Group.”Mansour will report to Ashkenazi and assumes his role on April 22.
