bet365 launches in Buenos Aires under dual city and provinces licence

bet365 has laid a further marker for its ongoing South American expansion, as this week sees the official launch of its dedicated online gambling domain in Buenos Aires – www.bet365.bet.ar.

The UK’s leading online bookmaker has secured dual BA licenses  granted by the Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos (IPLyC) and city regulator Loteria de la Ciudad (LOTBA).

As a result, bet365 has acquired full licensing provisions to provide its sportsbook and online gambling services for customers based in both the capital city and wider provincial jurisdictions.

bet365 outlined its intentions to launch in Buenos Aires back in 2019, forming a partnership with regional land-based operator Pasteko SA – a requirement placed by BA authorities as a pre-licensing command.

Though securing a BA partnership, bet365 and market suitors had to wait two-years for BA authorities to settle and proceed on launching a dual licensing regime.

bet365 joins Betsson AB and Codere Online as international incumbents which have launched BA licensed properties this year

In a statement bet365 said that this expansion into Buenos Aires further exemplifies its commitment to customers in Latin America, where the firm is already partnered with Ganador Azteca in Mexico.

A bet365 statement read: “We are delighted to announce the launch of a dedicated website for customers residing in Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires and Provincia de Buenos Aires.

“In a region with such intense passion for sport, we are excited to provide an unrivaled sports betting experience, with a key focus on both localised and international markets.”
