Betgenius to lead GiG’s B2B sportsbook management

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has formed a strategic partnership with Betgenius to boost its sports data, trading and risk management provisions, and further the sportsbook capacity of its flagship B2B platform.

The agreement will see GiG utilise Betgenius’ end-to-end live data, trading and risk management services to upgrade all sportsbook provisions for regulated market partners.

2020 has marked a year of strategic change for GiG, with the Stockholm-listed group choosing to refocus its business as an industry B2B technology supplier by completing the Q1 sale of its B2C brand portfolio Rizk, Guts, Kaboo and Thrills to Betsson AB.

Moving forward, Betgenius will be charged with the day-to-day sportsbook management responsibilities of GiG clients, including full customisable pricings for pre-match and in-play sports markets.

GiG said that the strategic partnership will see it secure further resources to help the future development and maintenance of its ‘highly compliant and fast-to-market platform (PAM)’, and capabilities related to technical architecture and front-end development.

Backing the agreement, Richard Brown, CEO of GiG, said: “Betgenius is a market leader within sports data as well as having a first-class risk and trading management solution, and I am delighted that they have chosen GiG as their partner to create a sportsbook and platform solution.

“Combined we will offer a highly competitive offering to the market, already proven by the signing of a Heads of Terms with a major operator. The partnership will also further improve operational efficiency within our sports segment.”

Further partnership benefits will see GiG clients secure access to officially sanctioned content and data from over 300 competitions including the English Premier League, Serie A and EuroLeague basketball.

Concluding its statement, GiG revealed that the Betgenius partnership has ‘already signed a Heads of Terms to supply platform and sportsbook software to a major LATAM operator’ – with the final agreement expected to be signed this September.

Jack Davison, Chief Commercial Officer at Genius Sports Group (parent company of Betgenius), said: “The Betgenius-GiG partnership is highly complementary for a number of reasons.

Not only do our technologies and specialist services dovetail perfectly to create a complete sportsbook platform solution, our values highly compliant businesses who operate in a responsible way are very much aligned. We’re excited to work together.”
