Bakhshi and Shaddick launch ‘Art of the Possible’ podcast tracking US 2020 developments

Sarbjit Bakhshi, Smarkets Head of Politics has joined forces with GVC Holdings counterpart Matt Shaddick to launch Art of the Possible (@PossiblePod) – a podcast analysing political betting markets, predictions and further events.

Ahead of the US 2020 Election on 3 November, @PossiblePod forms part of the ‘Old Bull’ audio series by the American Civics Exchange, providing its listeners expert analysis on US politics and unbiased insights with regards to US predictions, data and polling.

With global lockdown disrupting all major sports events, US 2020 has taken centre stage for bookmakers as this year’s biggest wagering market.

Bakhshi tells SBC, “The level of interest in political prediction markets and trading has never been greater than with the current US 2020 Presidential election. To capitalise on this, and better help people understand political trading, we decided to create the Art of the Possible podcast”.

Scanning the majority of bookmakers, current US 2020 market odds favour a 6/4 Joe Biden DNC victory, as President Trump’s continued mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic and its dire consequences, see him and the GOP slip on all major US Election polls and indicators.

Nevertheless, recognised as the leading industry figureheads on political wagering, Bakhshi and Shaddick warn against trading teams being led by easy campaign rhetoric.

“Creating and running political prediction markets can be challenging. It requires a lot of research and uncovers many oddities in the political systems around the world. Our show is a chance for listeners to understand our thinking and uncover these quirks with us.” Bakhshi adds.

“With our expert guests, we explore the stories behind the headlines, what might be motivating the markets and help political traders better understand the markets we’ve created and how they can best trade them.”
