Sportradar delivers US live streaming debut on FanDuel

Following a successful trial at a major tennis tournament, Sportradar has extended its partnership with FanDuel to bring live streaming to New Jersey’s leading sports betting app.

Through this extension, the app will now include a portfolio of live sporting events, including tennis from around the world and European soccer via Sportradar’s Live Channel Online.

Live streaming is an established part of the betting experience around the world, but this is a first for US consumers, who subsequently gain the chance to watch live action from their mobile devices.

“We are really excited to bring live streaming to the US market with FanDuel,” said Neale Deeley, Vice President of US Sales and Gaming at Sportradar.

“We have been long standing partners of both FanDuel and parent company PaddyPower Betfair across a wide range of betting and fantasy services. We’re proud to be an ongoing part of their US expansion plans.”

Niall Connell, General Manager at FanDuel Sportsbook, added: “The ability to live stream professional sports inside our sports betting product will provide our customers with a first class betting experience.

“By making Sportradar’s Live Channel Online available alongside our betting markets, FanDuel Sportsbook continues to be the premiere sports destination in the ever growing sports betting industry.”

Sportradar’s Live Channel will be included directly into the the operator’s sportsbook interface, incorporating live events with betting lines and data, but with the added functionality where sports fans can actually place a live wager on the event they are viewing.

The live streams will initially be limited to bettors in New Jersey, where FanDuel and PointsBet (the two live skins for the Meadowlands Racetrack) took a combined $13.32 million in revenues for March 2019, but FanDuel hopes to introduce the service in other states as and when they legislate for mobile wagering.
