NFL service an “obvious” next step for Abelson Odds

Abelson Info has announced a major development for its odds providing division, which is to result in the first steps being made outside of its specialist zone of football coverage.

Launching its NFL (National Football League) touchdown scorer pricing service, Abelson Odds expansion is to incorporate one of the largest sports in the USA, and one that is also making huge waves on a global scale, particularly in Europe.

Ed Abelson, Managing Director of Abelson Info, said: “We are excited to take our business into a new sport and region. We are delighted with the response from our existing customers, and we look forward to working with new customers over the coming season.”

Acquiring Super Soccer Oddsfeed in 2017, a football player pricing service, a number of expansions and enhancements have since taken place to expand its coverage, something the firm says is particularly emphasised with the addition of in-play betting to the product set.

Branching out this year to encompass NFL coverage, whose Super Bowl showpiece, won by the Philadelphia Eagles 41-33 over the New England Patriots last season, was watched by a US audience of 103.4m, Abelson Odds is to cover markets for all 267 regular and postseason games.

Jeevan Jeyaratnam, Head of Pricing at Abelson Info, has been lauding the first manoeuvre outside of football as an obvious next step, elaborating: “Given our expertise and operational capabilities in managing player databases and compiling odds, the step into America’s game was inevitable.

“Ever since news of the repeal of PASPA, we have seen European operators looking to improve their US Sports products, something that our product can help with, taking the labour-intensive steps away from our clients”

NFL’s preseason schedule gets underway at the beginning of August with five rounds of competition scheduled, before week one of seventeen in the regular season commences with defending champions the Eagles at home to the Atlanta Falcons on 7 September.

Super Bowl LIII is to emanate from the Falcons’ Mercedes-Benz Stadium home on Sunday 3 February 2019.
