Betsson AB European sports betting subsidiary Betsafe has announced that it has signed UFC Lightweight Champion ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor as its new ‘EU Ambassador’.
One of the most followed and popular athletes in world sports, UFC star McGregor is currently preparing to fight boxing legend Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather in Las Vegas on 26 August, in a bout seeking to break all combat sports records.
McGregor confirmed his role as Betsafe Ambassador via YouTube and social media channels.
Backing its new ambassador to become the first man to defeat the unbeaten Mayweather (professional record: 49-1), Betsafe is offering new customers fight odds of 49/1 on a McGregor victory.
In addition, Betsafe marketing has today announced the launch of its ‘Notorious VIP Weekend’ competition in which winners will fly via private jet to watch the historic fight.
Updating the media, Nicola Fitton Managing Director of Betsafe Europe detailed that sponsorship of McGregor would run for 18 months ‘across Betsafe EU territories’.
The Betsafe brand will also appear on McGregor’s shorts for the upcoming Mayweather mega fight, with the bookmaker planning a variety of ‘exciting activations’ for its customers, bringing them closer to the star athlete.
