Sky Betting and Gaming invests £3 million in Data Tribe boost

Sky Betting and Gaming has demonstrated its emphasis on the innovative use of data by investing £3 million in 34 new roles within its Leeds-based Data Tribe.

The company will appoint a new Head of Data, Head of Tech, Head of Marketing Tech, two Group Platform managers, two Marketing Technology Product Owners, four technologist roles, 10 Customer Relationship Management roles and a new marketing team to support a further 13 technologist roles.

The digital sector is set to be a main driver in the economic growth of Leeds and the Northern Powerhouse, supporting the creation of an estimated 800,000 new jobs UK-wide by 2050. There are currently an estimated 24,000 digital jobs in Leeds in a sector worth £688 million, with a growing number of those roles focused on data science.

Rik Barker, Director of Gaming Technology at Sky Betting and Gaming, said: “The need to use data in new and innovative ways is growing exponentially and Leeds has considerable expertise in these areas.

“Our investment in these new roles demonstrates our continued ambition to be leaders in the field, as well as allowing us to push further into some really exciting developments around propensity modelling, streaming and real-time decisioning that will give our customers even greater experiences across all our products.”
