bwin infographic: Can Trump really be the next political shock?

Remember those happy times just over a year ago when talk of Donald Trump as the next US President were laughed off as absurd?

You only need to go back 14 months to find odds for the Donald as high as 100/1. In June 2015 he was 33/1 to win the Republican candidacy. They said it couldn’t be done. Unfortunately, they were wrong.

Trump remains the underdog but he’s priced at 13/5 with most of the opinion that logic will win out and Hillary Clinton will succeed Barack Obama. The sad fact is though that logic often loses. As history shows us too this would not be the first time in politics that an outsider has proved the bookies wrong.

Bookmaker bwin has put together an infographic highlighting just this:

From the recent Brexit betting to Corbyn and Galloway’s respective victories, stranger things have happened.

Whether the citizens of the USA will actually vote for the 70 year old former Apprentice frontman to be their next President will be revealed in November. For now we must wait and pray that he won’t be added to bwin’s list of political shocks.
