Foxes fan cashes out for £72k on Leicester title win

Jessica BridgeA Leicester City fan has collected a cool £72k from Ladbrokes on his team winning the Premier League.

The male customer in his mid-thirties, who wishes to remain anonymous, placed a £50 bet at the start of the season on Leicester City lifting the trophy at 5000/1. After reading Saturday’s newspapers about John Pryke cashing out for £29,000, he decided to take his money and run.

The customer is £72,335.89 richer and finds himself as the biggest cash out winner in the country. He stood to win £250,000 from his wager and would have collected the largest sum of any Leicester City backer at 5000/1 this season.

Speaking from his home in Warwickshire, he commented: “I’m ecstatic, I read the papers on Saturday morning and thought it’s time to cash out. Win or lose the league, I’m looking forward to the rest of the season ahead. It will mean so much if we win so there’s no point in being greedy.

“The odds are constantly changing; even Chelsea could sneak into the top 4 at the last minute. I’ll be celebrating tonight hopefully after beating Watford. A holiday to Spain is a certainty followed by paying off the mortgage with the winnings.”

Jessica Bridge, PR Manager for Ladbrokes, said: “It’s a life-changing amount of money and we congratulate our customer for holding his nerve this long. He’s now the richest cash out punter in the entire country and we wish him all the best.”
