UK betting operator Ladbrokes has confirmed that it has agreed its first ever German sports sponsorship with SV Werder Breman becoming the Bundesliga football clubs official betting partner.
The marketing partnership will see Ladbrokes replace German betting operator Tipico Sportwetten as betting partner for the Die Werderaner. Tipico had chosen not to renew its partnership with the Breman football club.
German business news sources report that the partnership is set to run until the end of the season. Ladbrokes has begun marketing initiatives with the football which has seen its brand promoted on LED screens during match days at the Westersatdion stadium (capacity 43,000).
Both parties have chosen not to disclose the financial terms of the deal
At present Ladbrokes is one of twenty online betting operators which has been approved a controversial Hesse ministry sports betting licence.
The Germany online betting market is likely to significant change in 2016 as the country looks to re-align its policy with European Union competition standards.
