The tide has shifted for the first time in Manchester this season with the Red Devils far more fancied than their blue neighbours, according to data from AccaTracker, the mobile app developed by Team FA that helps users keep on top of their multiple football bets.
It appears the betting community has zero faith in Sunderland for their trip to Old Trafford this week with the match appearing heavily in football accumulators as punters look to build up their bets.
In contrast, Man City’s trip to White Hart Lane to play Tottenham on Saturday afternoon has very few fans willing to take a stand, with the game ninth in the list of the most popular accumulator bets this weekend.
City’s recent wobble in form means that punters are more sure of predicting Bristol City’s visit to Ipswich Town in the Championship than the Premier League leaders taking three points against Spurs.
Team FA Director of Marketing Tim Pindar commented: “Having looked at the various bets being placed this weekend it is clear that no-one expects anything from Sunderland. From home win, to Man Utd Overs, and Half Time/Full Time bets, we have not seen one team take such a hold of bets as this match so far this season.
“There’s still not as much confidence in Chelsea though, despite playing another troubled team in Newcastle, and Man City are outside the top spots for the first time in terms of the percentage of bets being placed.”
