In light of the ongoing European refugee crisis, online bookmaker Betsson AB announced that it had donated its advertising inventory on Swedish high visibility news portals Aftonbladet.se and Expressen.se to humanitarian organisation the Red Cross.

The Stockholm listed and Malta operated online betting operator had released its advertising space for a period of four days, in order to help raise awareness and donations for the ‘Refugee Crisis’ ,which has forced millions of people to flee their homes in the Middle-east, sub-Saharan Africa and elsewhere.

Betsson AB assisted in the creation of the advertising inventory for the Red Cross. Issuing a short statement Betsson AB commented on its Red Cross donation

“Donating the advertising space is Betsson’s way of helping the Red Cross to raise much needed funds to provide humanitarian aid to people in a desperate situation and this idea originated from Betsson employees.”

“Betsson further urges other companies to follow suit and make a difference in any way they can”.
