Key accumulator match: Man City v West Ham

accatrackerMan City have retained their position as the punters’ favoured bankers, despite their midweek problems against Juventus, but only just as a weekend of difficult to predict fixtures in the Premier League are seeing football accumulators spread across a range of games.

Data from AccaTracker, the mobile app developed by Team FA that helps users keep on top of their multiple football bets, shows punters have largely stayed away from the weekend’s big game, Chelsea verses Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, as they presumably believe there are too many factors involved to accurately call a winner.

While Chelsea are still favourites at around 6/4, their Premier League form has been dire to say the least, and the Gunners have already beaten them this season in the Community Shield.

Team FA Director of Marketing Tim Pindar commented: “This weekend’s Premier League fixtures have thrown up some intriguing match ups, but no single game has featured too heavily on betting slips so far. It is perhaps an indication of the competitive nature of the Premier League this season that no one team is massively fancied over another. Even runaway leaders Manchester City are facing a mercurial West Ham United side that have already won at the Emirates and Anfield this season.

“Despite the tough fixtures, the Premier League has asserted its position as the top league for betting. All 7 of Saturday’s Premier League fixtures are more popular betting opportunities than any of the matches in the lower divisions this weekend.”
