Cricket expert Simon Hughes partners with Betway for this summer’s Ashes

Simon Hughes

Award-winning journalist and broadcaster and former cricketer Simon Hughes, aka The Analyst, will be providing a detailed blog for online sportsbook Betway on this summer’s Ashes.

Hughes, who works for Channel 5, the BBC and The Times, will delve deep under the surface, providing exclusive, expert analysis on all aspects of the series. He will write a blog ahead of each Test and halfway through, which will be perfect for those looking to take advantage of Betway’s numerous in-play cricket markets.

The former Middlesex bowler will provide full social media support to promote the blog throughout the summer, as well as giving Betway rights to use his name and image. Betway have signed a number of brand ambassadors over the past six months, including Mike Tindall for rugby union and Sky Sports’ Sarah Stirk for golf.

Betway’s Alan Alger said: “It’s our aim to get our customers closer to sport and there’s no better cricketing brain than The Analyst.

“Simon will be providing the most insightful content out there. He’s able to uncover things that most cricket fans wouldn’t even have considered and it’s a blog that’s not to be missed this summer.”

Hughes added: “It’s going to be an intriguing series and I’m really looking forward to sharing my views with Betway’s customers. I don’t think it’s going to be quite as much of a one-horse race as the betting markets suggest.”
