bettingexpert – Wolfsburg beats Manchester United as tipsters’ most exciting team

Games featuring German Cup winners Wolfsburg were predicted to be the most exciting matches last season, according to some of Europe’s best tipsters. Using data extracted from the vast bettingexpert.com tipping network, Wolfsburg’s matches were predicted to contain over 2.5 goals in almost 95 per cent of the tips, with only 5.66% of tips predicting fewer than 2.5 goals.

The confidence in Wolfsburg being involved in high scoring matches also seems to have been justified – over 60% of over 2.5 goal tips were correct, while only a measly 26% of tips for under 2.5 goals were successful.

Wolfsburg came ahead of English giants Manchester United, who have seen goals at both ends in a turbulent season. Perhaps its little wonder that 92.5% of the tips in the under/over 2.5 goals markets involving the Red Devils predicted over 2.5 goals. Unlike Wolfsburg though, those that predicted under 2.5 goals were way more accurate than those that predicted over 2.5 – 63% compared to 48%.

Other teams that bettingexpert’s network of top tipsters predicted to feature in matches with goals galore were Werder Bremen, Tottenham Hotspur and Cagliari.

At the other end of the scale, Granada, Chievo Verona and Monaco were the teams which the bettingexpert tipsters predicted to have fewer than 2.5 goals most often.

Perhaps surprisingly given the free scoring forward trident of Messi, Neymar and Suarez, Barcelona were down in 31st in the table. However Gavin Moore of bettingexpert.com explained: “On purely footballing terms, Barcelona should be high in any table when it comes to goalscoring. However it is likely that the odds available around Barcelona in the over/under 2.5 goals markets is likely to have skewed our tipsters results. The average odds for under 2.5 goals in matches involving Barcelona was 2.60 – much, much longer than any other team in fact. Such long odds on an over/under market no doubt saw more tipsters suggesting that under 2.5 goals provided more value.”
