Entering its 25th year in operations, European online sports betting operator Interwetten, one of the industry’s longest serving online sportsbooks stated that it was in a stronger position than ever.
CEO Werner Becher highlighted that the company had begun 2015 strongly, as the operator had seen a 10% increase in turnover to €12 million. The operator’s positive performance had been driven by increased wagering through its mobile products which had contributed 46% of total company turnover
Interwetten management was further pleased to announce that the company had continued its positive 2014 momentum into 2015, as the operator had seen an increase in new depositing players and active customers.
During the period Interwetten had boosted its product offerings, with a new cash-out functionality for its online sports betting product, and additional igaming inventory for it’s casino vertical.
Werner Becher commented on Interwetten performance
After an extremely successful 2014, the upward trend has continued in the first quarter of 2015. I am particularly happy about the fact that we were able to boost the mobile share in sports betting to almost 50%, and, in case of casino and games, to double it to 33%. Despite football leagues in our German-speaking core markets kicking off their seasons way later, the growth in turnover in sports betting reached a whopping 15%! I am rather confident that this trend will continue throughout the year.”
Interwetten would use its performance announcement to publicise that it would be preparing to celebrate its 25 year in the online gambling business throughout 2015, with upcoming special anniversary prizes and added value promotions for its customers.
