A Paddy Power Galway Punter has won €206,000 after hitting his €1 17-fold football accumulator.
Paddy Power’s lucky customer picked 17 winners from Champions League, Championship and League One fixtures, his outstanding accumulator win was confirmed on Monday when Norwich City beat Blackburn rovers 2-1 thanks to a late winner by Bradley Johnson.
Féilim Mac An Iomaire, a PR spokesperson for Paddy Power, said: “This is by a county mile, the most impressive bet of the season, and any punter that defies odds of 206,261/1 is due a tip of the hat.
“Many of us place €1 bets from time to time, but for a bet of this size to come true like this is just ridiculous.
“Normally you would be a bag of nerves waiting on games, but he was just waiting on the Norwich match at Blackburn. He’s taken us to the cleaners and while we’re delighted for him we’ll be hoping that won’t be giving us another kicking any time soon.”
