Kansspelautoriteit opens application process for Dutch igaming market

Kansspelautoriteit the gambling regulator for the Netherlands has opened its online gambling application process. Operators interested in servicing legal online gambling services to Dutch consumers, have been requested to apply via the Kansspelautoriteit website.

The Dutch regulatory will begin to asses first applicants for a regulatory Dutch igaming market. All applicants will be kept informed of their process and any further legislative developments.

Throughout 2014 Kansspelautoriteit and its advisors have been assessing the implementation of regulatory and legislative frameworks for the Dutch igaming markets.

The Netherlands like several other European Union territories has been required to speed up and clarify its igaming market regulations, in order to comply with European business frameworks.

In 2014 Kansspelautoriteit has stepped up its efforts against operators it deems to have breached Dutch gaming regulations. This month the regulator placed a record €200,000 (£185,000) fine on European igaming operator Titanbet.com and associated igaming brands Casinotropez.com, VegasRed.com and Titancasino.com

The Dutch regulatory body for gambling did not state whether a regulated igaming marker would be fully legislated by 2015
