Winner Sports’ aggressive marketing paying off

SBC News Winner Sports' aggressive marketing paying offAnalysis from online betting service and affiliate Freebets.com shows Winner Sports heading the competitive enhanced odds offers arena for the second successive month.

An appealing sign-up offer which entitles qualifying customers to a 400% bonus on their first bet is one of the best around, but the bookmaker combines promote enhanced odds for new customers on high-profile sporting events throughout the month to offer exceptional value.

The firm was well clear of Paddy Power in Freebets.com’s findings for October, with 888Sport taking third in the rankings compiled by staff with over 50 years’ experience in the betting industry. Using a formula that attributes weightings for various factors, it provides comparative values to the array of enhanced odds promotions out there currently.

The algorithm takes into account the maximum permitted stake, the chance of winning the bet, extra potential winnings from the enhancement and whether or not it is paid in free bets.

In a fiercely competitive online marketplace, layers are falling over themselves to offer inflated odds to entice in new players. And it is football that remains responsible for 95% of the enhanced odds offers. Typically firms will inflate odds hugely on a heavy favourite and even offer money back as a free bet if they fail to win.

As a recruiting tool it’s as close to a no-lose bet as punters are going to get. And it was BetBright’s 4/1 on England to beat San Marino that was rated the best enhanced odds promotion of October. England were generally trading at 1/250 to beat the minnows in their Euro 2016 qualification match.

Paddy Power prides itself as the home of excellent betting offers and the Dublin-based bookmaker offered the largest odds enhancement in October with 28/1 on Poland, Portugal, Serbia and Greece to win – all favourites for their clashes.

Betfair has been extremely aggressive with its price boosts, but because it pays its winning odds enhancements in the form of free bets, rather than cash, it misses out on appearing in Freebets.com’s findings. If it was included, the sportsbook would find itself miles clear from the chasing pack.

The operator had five of the top ten monthly offers, headed by their 6/1 on Manchester City to beat Tottenham.

Freebets.com’s view is that, particularly for relatively fresh names in the online betting market, price boosts will become an increasingly important driver in signing up new customers. The more aggressive the offer, the harder it is for a punter to turn it down. It will be interesting to see just how these promotions develop in the coming months, particularly with such a packed sporting schedule over the holidays.

Freebets.com conducts in-depth analysis of Enhanced Odds offers promoted on the websites of leading online bookmakers every month. The list of monitored bookmakers reads; 10Bet, 188BET, 888sport, bet365, Betfair Sportsbook, Betfred, BetVictor, Betway, Boylesports, Coral, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power, Sky Bet, Sportingbet, Stan James, Titan Bet, Unibet, William Hill and Winner. The analysis focused specifically on Enhanced Odds offers and other promotions such as Money Back specials, bonuses, concessions and guarantees are not included.
