William Hill’s Manila operations are under investigation by the Philippines National Bureau of Investigation, in regards to allegations of illegal gambling activities in the Philippines.

William Hill has temporarily suspended its Manila service-centre operations, in order to assist the Bureau with its investigation.

In a corporate statement, the operator commented that it did not believe there were any unlawful activities occurring in its Manila operations. William Hill further stated that its Manila operations served as customer support and back office services for its online betting business. Its Manila operations did not process any gambling wagers.

The bookmaker said services would be supplied from elsewhere and it was working “to ensure that all services are covered to our normal standard”.

“At this stage we are comfortable with our expectations for 2014 and will update the market as necessary,” the company added.
