BetVictor’s new management brought in under new sole owner Michael Tabor have terminated its negotiations with the UK’s Sun newspaper.
BetVictor will choose to re-focus its energies on re-structuring company operations under new management, having been acquired by Tabor’s investment vehicle last May.
The operator had agreed to partner with the Sun newspaper, in order to provide a white label sports betting product targeting the newspapers six million readers . The sports betting product would be promoted through the Sun’s digital and mobile platforms.
Despite the setback, the Sun newspaper stated that it was still committed to launching a sports betting service for its readers. The newspaper will likely re-host a tender for sports betting partnerships
“Britain’s most popular paper is the number one choice of more than half the UK’s online gamblers, so we are always seeking ways of strengthening our sports offer to them,” commented a Sun statement.
