Paddy Power and Ladbrokes have suspended wagering on Glastonbury headlining acts, as social media rumours have circulated regarding the reunion of Manchester rock band oasis as headlining act of the festival.

Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher tweeted the letters O A S I S, following it up by tweeting OASIS LG. The cryptic tweets led bookmakers Paddy Power and Ladbrokes to suspend betting on the possibility of the band reforming and headlining Glastonbury in June.

Glastonbury Festival (Worthy Farm Pilton 25th-27th June)  is the UK’s largest festival, which attracts more than 100,000 festival goers. Event organisers had yet to confirm the third and final headlining act for the 2014 festival. If confirmed as headliners of the Glastonbury Festival, Oasis will join confirmed music acts Kasabian and Arcade Fire.

Prior to suspending the market Ladbrokes and Paddy Power had displayed odds on the festival’s headling act, with heavy metal band Metallica and legendary US artist Prince. Following Liam Gallagher’s tweets Ladbrokes and Paddy Power communicated the following message regarding the closure of the betting market.
