FDJ Gaming Solutions strikes retail distribution deal with Veikkaus Oy

FDJ Gaming Solutions, in collaboration with Carrus Gaming, has secured a retail distribution agreement with Finnish state-owned gambling monopoly Veikkaus Oy.

As a result of the link-up, FDJ will provide Veikkaus Oy with its digital development platform (DDP) and image analysis in order to inform development of the operator’s terminal application.

The new application will function independently on Carrus Gaming’s camera-based Elite-S terminals, whilst the Finnish monopoly will also leverage FDJ Gaming Solutions’ terminal management system to operate, monitor and update its own terminal range.

Timothée Carrus, CEO of Groupe Carrus, said: “This contract is a new success for our gaming terminals and a major achievement for the strategic partnership between Carrus Gaming and FDJ Gaming Solutions. It is a new milestone in our joint success story as we cooperate for more than 20 years delivering over 330,000 lottery terminals worldwide.”

For FDJ Gaming Solutions, the agreement marks an expansion of its international commercial distribution operations, having partnered with a number of state-based gambling operators, including two major deals signed towards the end of the summer.

August saw the B2B technology subsidiary, again in partnership with Groupe Carrus, win the tender to redevelop the retail distribution network of Germany’s LOTO Bayern, whilst also being chosen by Canada’s Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation’s (OLG) to support its first sports betting operations.

Commenting on the provider’s latest arrangement with Veikkaus Oy, Pascal Blyau, CEO of FDJ Gaming Solutions France, remarked: “It is the first time we provide DDP, an open framework using web technologies which accelerates terminal application development, enables dematerialisation approaches and seamless integration to gaming or non-gaming services.

“Veikkaus Oy developers build Electron-based sales applications, concentrate on business logic while DDP takes care of the terminal functions, image analysis and embeds native connection to the TMS. It is also the first time we deliver TMS as a service from the cloud.”
