Bingo Association confirms full house for National Bingo Day

The Bingo Association has confirmed that this Sunday 27 June, all members (retail and online) will participate in the UK’s first-ever ‘National Bingo Day’.

The initiative was announced last March, as the UK government published its lockdown easing roadmap, with the Bingo Association calling for all industry stakeholders to help bingo’s hospitality venues return to business.

Securing its 27 June date, National Bingo Day has been supported by Mecca and Buzz Bingo – the UK’s biggest bingo venue operators.

“National Bingo Day will celebrate all the elements of bingo – fun, entertainment and a sense of togetherness,” commented Bingo Association Chief Executive Miles Baron

“We want everyone to be part of it and with the easing of restrictions after lockdown everyone is in need of some safe fun: what better way to celebrate than playing the great game of bingo.”

National Bingo Day hopes to replicate the long-standing success of its US counterpart, hosted on the same day, with ‘players across the UK paying tribute to bingo in all its forms with a celebratory day of games, prizes, and promotions for everyone’.

Gearing up for Sunday, leading online bingo community WhichBingo, opened its first ever ‘free bingo room’ this week, powered by Mecca Bingo, offering players chances to win £100 jackpots.
