MGM Resorts International’s New Jersey property the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa will have its sports betting systems and terminals powered by industry technology provider IGT Group.

Issuing a market update, New York-listed IGT Group confirms that it has secured the retail betting systems contract to service MGM Resorts Atlantic City property.

Both parties have a prior relationship, with IGT servicing retail sports betting provisions at ten of MGM Resorts Las Vegas Strip properties, and with IGT further acting as lead software supplier of  the playMGM app across Nevada.

The Atlantic City Borgata has begun to take wagers on sports betting this week, installing GT’s retail point-of-sale system, allowing New Jersey patrons to place in-play and pre-match sports bets over the counter.

“Deployment of IGT’s sports betting solution at Borgata demonstrates that we are ready to deliver the products, technology, support and service to make retail and mobile sports betting a reality in any legalized state, today,” said Renato Ascoli, IGT CEO North America.

“We’re very excited to extend our successful sports betting relationship with MGM Resorts to New Jersey and beyond.”
