UK race track operator Arena Racing Company (ARC) has announced a £600,000 investment in Uttoxeter Racecourse, to modernise its restaurant and hospitality facilities.
The new restaurant facility will replace the current Silks Restaurant which ARC hopes to cater 300 guests on race days. Uttoxeter Racecourse will further improve its corporate facilities, with a view to becoming a key venue for Staffordshire business.
ARC governance confirmed that work on the racecourse will begin from January 2016, with the new restaurant set to be opened for the Betfred Midlands National Meeting on Saturday 19 March.
This investment follows £70,000 worth of drainage works in August, to improve the racing surface at the track which will offer greater consistency of the Going and minimise the risk of abandonment.
Executive Director of Uttoxeter Racecourse, David MacDonald, said “We are delighted to be going ahead with this significant development. It will offer our racegoers the opportunity to experience a premier dining facility while enjoying the racing action for the first time at Uttoxeter.”
“Equally, we will be able to offer the facility year round for conferences and events for between 350 and 400 people and will be one of the largest premium venues in Staffordshire. We are very much looking forward to having everything in place for our biggest meeting of the year, the Betfred Midlands National on Saturday 19 March.”
