PMU enters Brazil venture with Jockey Club Brasileiro

brazilFrench race track operator Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU) has entered the South American racing market by announcing a joint venture with Jockey Club Brasileiro (JCB). The venture will bring to life new subsidiary PMU Brasil.

PMU governance stated that its partnership with JCB, would aim to modernise Brazil track racing. PMU management systems will be utilised to operate wagering and monitoring of races on JCB tracks.

PMU Brasil customers will benefit from an extensive range of wagering options through retail points, telephone betting and through digital channels. Furthermore PMU Brasil is set to broadcast races through live streams increasing the coverage of racing in Brazil.

PMU Brasil will be supported with new advertising campaigns promoting the brand and race events.

Hurstel Xavier President & Chief Exectutive of PMU stated that the partnership “marked a new era for Brazilian Horse Racing”.
