Eastern European focused gambling and sports betting operator Fortuna Entertainment Group has announced that it has signed an agreement to license its brand to Romanian betting operators Bet Active Concept and Bet Zone.
The Romanian licensed operators who are owned by investment firm Penta Group, will be allowed to use the Fortuna brand and its trademark to promote gambling and betting services.
The agreement sees Fortuna expand its presence into the Romanian betting market. Fortuna Chief Executive Per Widerstrom said in a corporate statement
“Licensing of our brand opens a door for a further cooperation in multi-channel sports betting and gaming services in Romania. Fortuna remains a strong and trusted brand in Central Eastern European sports betting, this agreement reinforces how valuable our brand has become”.
The operator is seeking new markets in which to grow its operations, having witnessed a tough opening H1 2015 period in which it was impacted on by increased tax charges within core markets or Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Under Per Widerstrom guidance, Fortuna Group is in the process of undertaking significant staff hires to improve its day to day operations and aid future corporate growth.
