William Hill – Sam Smith leads Spectre Bond theme song market

Sam Mendes the director of the new James Bond ‘Spectre’ movie has confirmed that the theme of the new film has been written and recorded. The film’s producers are set to reveal the songs leading artist soon, as they gear up for the release of one 2015’s most anticipated movies.

Spectre’ the second Bond film directed by Sam Mendes is scheduled for release on 26 October. Speaking to BBC News, Mendes Confirmed that the song was ready, and that its artist had been confirmed.

William Hill has opened odds on the entertainment market, placing London singer Sam Smith as 2/5 favourite. Smith is followed by multi-platinum selling artist Ed Sheeran (8/1), as it appears that the bookmaker favours a British male solo to land the ‘Bond Gig’, for the first time since 1965 when Tom Jones sang ‘Thunderball’.

Pop artist Ellie Goulding who had strongly been linked to sing the Spectre Bond theme by the UK media, has been placed at 10/1. London singer Adele who sang the theme song of the Bond Skyfall movie in 2012, is currently fourth favourite at 12/1, if selected she will become the first artist to sing back to back bond themes
