ARC Racing has confirmed that Director Jim Allen has decided to leave the company at the end of the year. Allen who has been with the racing operator since 2001, leaves to set up his own training yard in the US.

Stephen Higgins who joined ARC at the start of the year will take over Allen responsibilities in the newly created role of Racing and Development Director.

In addition Jon Pullin has been promoted to Racing Operations Director from his role of Assistant Racing Director which he has held since 2012. Jon will support Stephen and between them they will be responsible for ARC’s Racing Department.

ARC Managing Director Tony Kelly said: “In my opinion ARC has some of the most talented and committed individuals working in British Racing. Jim has been a loyal and committed employee for both Northern Racing and latterly ARC. We are all delighted that he now has the opportunity to make his passion of training racehorses his full time career

“I am also pleased Stephen has agreed to take on the dual role of Racing and Development Director. He will be ably supported by Jon Pullin who deserves his promotion to Racing Operations Director.

Jim Allen commented on his departure from ARC operations:

“I have been lucky enough to work with some great people over the years and would like to thank all my employers. While I have enjoyed the administrative side of the sport my passion is training racehorses and I am excited that I can now take this on full time in the USA.”
