European Lotteries (EL) the regulatory body for EU member state lotteries has confirmed the appointment of Hansjörg Höltkemeier as its new president.
Hansjörg Höltkemeier had been elected through a direct vote by the members as President of the association. Höltkemeier has been a member of the Managing Board of the Deutsche Klassenlotterie Berlin (Germany) since 2005 and a member of EL Executive Committee since 2009.
The General Assembly further appointed Fernando Paes Afonso of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, the Portuguese national gambling regulator as First Vice-President and Robert Chvátal of Sazka (Czech Republic) as Second Vice-President.
Additional executive appointments have seen Andy Duncan, Chief Executive of UK National Lottery operator Camelot, Arjan Van’T Veer, Management Director at Staatsloterij in the Nertherlands, and Stéphane Pallex, President and Chief Executive of France’s La Française Des Jeux, have also been appointed to the executive committee.
