Tatts Group’s new sports betting brand UBET has announced three new sponsorships as the newly merged bookmaker looks to extend its marketing coverage in 2015.
Tatts Group CEO Robbie Cooke was pleased to announce that UBet had agreed title sponsorships with Adelaide Football Club (Australian Rules football), Melbourne City FC (Soccer) and the V8 Supercars championship
Cooke explained to the Australian media, that the sports sponsorships formed part of a AUS $15 million campaign to promote new brand UBET, which had merged Tatts Group operators Tabonline, Queensland TAB, UniTab and TattsBet.
Cooke further stated that UBET represented a new strategy for Tatts Group marketing, who in the past had shunned sponsorship as a marketing practive
“Tatts in the past has not engaged in wagering marketing activity to any major extent. This is the first time that we’re out there actually fighting back. In Australia we are the largest non-casino gambling group. It is time to start behaving as the market leader.”
Like many operators targeting the Australian sports betting market, UBET has launched its brand with the aid of prominent national sporting figures including former Australian Rugby Union Captain Nathan Sharpe.
UBET will further push its brand by planning exclusive promotions and prizes with its new sponsors, and creating exclusive content to be shared with the public on its social media channels.
