Churchill Downs appoints Mike Ziegler as Director of Racing

US racing operator Churchill Downs has announced the appointment of Mike Ziegler as its new Director of Racing. Ziegler will assume full responsibility of the senior management role on 26 January reporting to Bill Mudd the operator’s Chief Financial Officer.

Ziegler will take on responsibility of the performance and business strategy of Churchill Downs US racing operations, he will further serve as a representative between the racing operator and the US thoroughbred industry.

Ziegler has over twenty years’ experience in racing, having served in several senior management positions for YouBet.com, Hollywood Racing Park and Bay Meadows Racing.

Commenting on the appointment of Ziegler as Racing Director Bill Mudd stated
