Sloyan appointed as Ireland’s first Regulator of the National Lottery

Irish Government Compliance consultant Liam Sloyan, has been appointed as Ireland’s first Regulator of the National Lottery. The appointment was announced by Brendan Howlin, Minister of Public Expenditure, Sloyan will take charge of lottery affairs on November 17.

Compliance specialist Sloyan, is currently the Chief Executive of the Health Insurance Authority. Sloyan had played a key role in the restructuring of the regulatory framework of the Irish health insurance market.

Sloyan will now head up Irish National lottery interests and expenditure projects. Sloyan will work closely with other Irish government agencies to ensure efficiency in lottery operations.

Commenting on the appointment of Sloyan as Regulator of the National Lottery, Brendan Howlin said:

“I am confident that Liam Sloyan’s appointment, together with the award of the new National Lottery licence to Premier Lotteries Ireland Limited, will ensure that the National Lottery continues to enjoy public support and to benefit many good causes in the years ahead,”
