Boylesports, sponsors of the Irish Greyhound Derby, have teamed up with GAA clubs throughout Dublin to offer a €5,000 (£3698) first prize.
The independent bookmaker has allocated greyhounds to each of 44 clubs throughout the capital, with the winner set to pocket the cash on Derby final night.
Liam Glynn, PR Executive at Boylesports said “We had a massive response from the Dublin clubs in our Boylesports.Com Dublin GAA Nominators Irish Derby Draw and one lucky GAA club will be winning €5000 on the night of Saturday September 13th.”
He added: “We wish the 44 clubs the very best of luck and no doubt just like in GAA matches the tension and rivalry will be very competitive in a bid to win the €5,000.”
Round 2 runs on Thursday and Saturday, with 16 heats up for grabs. Droopys Nidge, Mind The Net, Holdem Spy and Skywalker Farloe currently top the betting at 12/1, with Droopys Nidge the marginal favourite at 10/1.
