Betfred managing director John Haddock has been promoted to the role of CEO. Haddock has been with the firm over 30 years and helped oversee the organisation’s huge expansion, going from c450 betting shops in 2004 to almost 1,400 today.
The CEO chair has been vacant since Trevor Beaumont’s departure two years ago. Haddock told the Racing Post: “I’m delighted to be the new chief executive of Betfred and look forward to continue growing the company across all platforms whether it’s in the shops, on racecourses or digitally.”
The change comes on the back of a shake up at the bookmaker which recently saw Digital Managing Director Christopher Sheffield and Head of Online Marketing Adele Lawton leave the company. Sheffield was with the firm for three during which he helped launch numerous online and mobile products. Former Playtech Commercial Director Lawton left after a brief six month stint.
