Scoop6 for a Willie Injured Jockeys Fund Win

Help Willie Carson to win a cool £15 million for charity in this Saturday’s Scoop6.

The irrepressible ex-jockey, winner of 3,828 races and a five time champion, has set himself the challenge of winning this Saturday’s mind-blowing £15 million Scoop6 jackpot for the Injured Jockeys Fund but he needs the public’s help.

Help Willie Carson to win a cool £15 million for charity in this Saturday’s Scoop6.

Willie’s been given a free £1,500 bet by the Tote but wants help from racing fans and lucky punters to choose the winners in each of the six specified races that make up the Scoop6.

He said, “It’s going to be a huge challenge to find six winners but I once rode six winners in an afternoon so it’s not impossible. The Tote money lets me pick three selections for each race so I’ll be trebling my chance of finding each winner. “I’d love to win the £15 million for the Injured Jockeys Fund which does such great work for the sport but I don’t trust my tipping talents. Anyone who reckons they have a sure fire winner of a Scoop6 race should tweet their fancy to me using the hashtag #WillieWin. I’ll use the advice to guide my final selections.”

But, even if Willie doesn’t hit the jackpot, there’s still good news for the Injured Jockeys Fund. Betfred’s Chairman, Fred Done has kindly agreed to donate £1 for every re-tweet from the @Lovethe_races account using the #WillieWin hashtag[1].

In recent weeks, the task of finding six certainties has eluded form students and sports fans alike, resulting in the jackpot pool growing to a record £15 million.

Last Saturday, one unlucky punter, Joe McGuire, missed out on winning the monster jackpot by inches after correctly predicting the first five winners of the pool bet. His final selection could only finish second, costing him a £10 million windfall. This Saturday there’s expected to be at least £15 million up for grabs.

If last week’s racing results are anything to go by then first-time players of the Scoop6 have just as good a chance of unearthing six winners as punting professionals. And even if all six selections don’t win, there’s still a chance that novice punters will collect a lesser dividend if their nominated horses get placed in every race.

The six races that make up the Scoop6 will be listed on the racing pages of every national paper and most of them will be shown live on Channel 4, so it’s as easy as 1-2-3.

So why not help Willie win and help the Injured Jockeys Fund too. The IJF has been helping the sport’s riders for 50 years, providing care, compassion and financial help. To date, they’ve spent over £18 million helping over 1,000 jockeys and their families. Their first rehabilitation and respite centre, Oaksey House, was opened by their patron HRH The Princess Royal in 2009 and a similar facility in the North, Jack Berry House, is set to open at the end of 2014.

If you’d like to make a £5 donation, just text IJF to 70800.  For further information please see www.ijf.org.uk
