Esports Hero platform raises $1 million

The esports investments continue with news that eSports Hero has raised $1 million (£709,000) from an Australian based esports investment firm eSports MogulESH

Esports Hero has announced that the money will be used to continue to expand, develop and promote its tournament platform. The company only launched in 2015 but has hosted thousands of micro tournaments since then across a huge range of titles.

Players are able to win real money by pitting their skills against others and viewers are able to watch these games take place via live streams.

James Heldridge, CEO of eSports Hero, said of the news: “Esports Hero is capturing the enthusiasm around competitive gaming by offering players of all skill levels an outlet to show off their abilities to the millions of eSports fans around the world. ESH has become a place for up-and-coming players who want to be recognized and a favorite destination for professional players such as Jab, Phonetap and KitKatz who are looking to expand their tournament play.”

There was more good news to boot with the revelation that Andrew Schneider, formerly of Sony Pictures Digital and NBC, has joined the eSports Hero board to serve as Co-Founder, Director, and CXO for the company.

Schneider had this to say: “The ESH team are core gamers and have a real passion for the sport. Together we are well positioned to create the most compelling and authentic experience for players worldwide.”
