Square in the Air recruits betting media guru Richard Bloch for critical 2021

Square in the Air (SiTA) has strengthened its senior leadership team by appointing seasoned industry public relations and outreach executive Richard Bloch as a Media Director.

Bloch has joined the London-based igaming and sports betting communications agency from William Hill, where he formally led the FTSE250 bookmaker’s social media and brand activations as Global Head of Branded Content.

A 20-year industry public relations executive, Bloch has led external communications and media management for tier-1 operators PokerStars, Betfair and 888 Holdings.

Bloch’s appointment comes as SiTA seeks to maximise outreach for its industry clients entering a critical 2021 countering new regulatory demands, combined with the global expansion of products and services.

“With Richard’s appointment we are doubling down on an already high-performing area of the business,” said Bill Esdaile, Managing Director of Square in the Air.

“He adds another layer of significant industry and management experience as well as specialist knowledge to complement our talented team.”

This November, SiTA announced a major client win by becoming the international PR agency for the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia’s forthcoming ‘Saudi Cup 2021 festival – recognised as global racing’s most valuable fixture.

“I am delighted to join the award-winning team at Square in the Air,” said Bloch. “It’s an exciting time in the company’s development and I look forwarding to leveraging my past experience in social media, PR and content to provide expertise as we continue to look at new areas of growth in the sport, betting and gaming space.”
